One Response

  1. I received notice on 2/20/2009 from Capital One Bank (USA), N.A. that they are increasing my credit card APR from 9.9% to 17.9% a/o 1/28/2009. I have done a litle research and found that Capital One Financial Corp. received Troubled Assett Relief Program (TARP) money. Personally, I am already being hit hard and may be facing the loss of my home at some point in the future as that portion of my retirement income that comes from a traditional IRA (derived from all the years I put into 401) has lost half its value (income stream from 2K to 1K) and now after the Federal Government has placed main street American’s (MSA’s) in the position of paying off all these TARP handouts, we MSA’s are being hit (additional whammy) by the very institutions receiving the money – in this case increased APR (doubled) on credit card. MSA’s are going beyond disbelief that this is even happening and are beginning to see just how little justice there is when it comes to fair acts/enforcements regarding our street. I guess it’s a good thing that the Social Security system wasn’t placed under the control of wall street as suggested by some a few years back as I would be suffering even greater loss of retirement income.
